Sir Gawain and The Green Knight

1. When Gawin set out on his journey, what was his goal ? Did his goal change at the end of the quest ?

Sir Gawain's goal was to find the Green Knight at the Green Chapel .

Yes, his goal changed at the end of the quest because of the fact that he was acually put through a test by the Green Knight to see how loyal he was .

2. Gawain had to face his fears in the Abyss . What were his fears ?

His fears was dying and getting his head chopped off .

3. The Green Knight only nicked the back of Gawain's neck . What do you think would have happened to Gawain if he had not accepted the green girdle from the Green Knight's wife ?

I think the Green Knight would of honored him and told him how he was a good committed knight .

4. What does Gawain learn about himself and about life from his encounter with the Green Knight ?

He learned that he let his fears get in the way of him being a true knight so that's why he took the green girdle .

5. As a result of Gawain's journey, how does his community, the Brotherhood of the round Table, benefit ?
The community and the brotherhood was able to benefit Gawain's journey by learning that no matter who you are you will always be able to face your fears and be able to take control of your life .



The Call:
The Green Knight comes along and challenges him of cutting his head off and then let the Green Knight do the same to him in a year and a day from now .


The Threshold:
Sir Gawain goes on his journey to the Green Chapel .


The Threshold Guardians:
King Arthur was the threshold guardian because without his help he wouldn' be the knight who he is now .  He had to turn him into a King .


The Helpers:
The Lord because he let Gawain stay in the castle .


The Mentor:
The Green Knight ( Lord ) was the mentor because he taught Gawain how to become loyal .


The Challenges and Temptation:
His challenge was to find the Green Knight and the Green Chapel, he had to fight on his way to the chapel and the temptation was the Lord's wife was trying to seduce him .


The Abyss:
When Gawian was in front of the Green Knight and he was ready to slice his head off .


The Revelation:
When Gawain realized he wasn't a loyal Knight when he didn't tell the lord he was given a girdle by the mistress .

The Antonement:
When Gawain wears the green gridle to how that he had fear and how he sees how he can overcome them .


The Gift and Return:
The gift was the green girdle and the return was when he came back to camelot and how he over came his fears .
